JnanaBase started in December 2005 as an experiment: could two people and a MediaWiki install build a useful small encyclopedia by copying, trimming and correcting free content? The answer was "partly".
Principles: short articles; every fact traceable; copied text attributed and licence-compatible (GFDL, later CC BY-SA); no original research; no login required.
Run by Sunil (Kochi) and Priya (Pune) with occasional help. Hosting donated.
